Common Curriculum Goals Content Standards AASL/AECT National Standards Benchmarks
Use a variety of written forms (e.g. journals, essay, short stories, poems, research papers, business communications, and technical writing) to express ideas and multiple media to create projects, presentations, and publications.

Reflect upon and evaluate own writing.

Select and use a variety of media and instructional technology resources to support student created products. Strives for excellence in information seeking and knowledge generation . . .

1. assesses the quality of the process and products of one's own information seeking;
2. devises strategies for revising, improving and updating self-generated knowledge.

Use multi-step writing process (e.g. identify audience and purpose, generate ideas, plan and draft, collaborate and confer, revise and publish) to express ideas. Select and use a variety of information resources to support ideas expressed in written forms. Participates effectively in groups to pursue and generate information . . .

1. shares knowledge and information with others;
2. respects others' ideas and backgrounds and acknowledges their contributions;
3. collaborates with others, both in person and through technologies, to identify information problems and to seek their solutions;
4. collaborates with others, both in person & through technologies, to design, develop, and evaluate information products and solutions.
