OASL provides progressive leadership to pursue excellence in school library media programs by:

  • advocating information literacy for all students;
  • supporting the highest levels of library media services in schools;
  • strengthening member professionalism through communications and educational opportunities;
  • promoting visibility in education, government and the community.

Membership Fees

Professional $50.00 (licensed and certificated personnel)
School Librarians/Library Media Specialists, Technology Specialists, Computer Coordinators, Higher Ed Professionals, Classroom Teachers, Administrators and Retired professionals.

ParaProfessionals $25.00
Library Assistants, Library Clerks, Media Managers, Repair Technicians, Computer Lab Assistants and all classified employees working in School Libraries.

Associate $25.00
Retired paraprofessionals, Full-time students, Out of State, Public Librarians (not joining with OLA) and other Educators.

Commercial $50.00
Vendors and Exhibitors in the Library and Technology Field

Joint OLA Add $20.00
Joint membership with the Oregon Library Association (in addition to base membership fee) You may also join OLA's Children's Division and OYAN for an addtional $5. fee.

All members will receive OASL newsletters, Interchange professional journals, conference information, and reduced registration at conferences. Members may vote, serve on important committees and hold office. The OASL membership year runs from October through the following September. The Organization

OASL is led by and Executive Committee, a Board of Directors, and many active committees, all of which involve library media and technology professionals from throughout the state. The Board of Directors and standing committees change yearly to involve new people. Committees include: Technology, Promotions, Awards, Intellectual Freedom, Scholarships, Legislative, Membership, Nominations and Higher Education.  Return to menu
